Cadets
Cadets:
Broadwater School has partnered with Charterhouse School to form a Broadwater School Army Cadets unit. The Broadwater Cadets complete their training at Charterhouse on a Wednesday and participate in a training syllabus that covers:
- First aid
- Military history
- Weapon handling
- Shooting
- Field craft
- And many other leadership opportunities.
The Broadwater Cadets has been very popular since launched, and Cadets must complete an application as part of the selection process due to the high demand and limited places available. The Broadwater Cadets was formed in Sept 2022, but interest is already very high for future years as all the students recognise the exceptional opportunities and leadership training they can access through the Cadets.
The Cadets are overseen by Major John Eastham who is Charterhouse Contingent Commander and Broadwater Officers 2Lt Stuart Cook and 2Lt Megan Lennon. They parade each Wednesday afternoon and attend school in Cadet uniform for the day.
